Abstract [sv]

Feministisk etik ges stort utrymme.

Abstract [en]

Revolutions are always a result of human revolt against different forms of injustice and oppression, and they presuppose that a fundamental change of existing political and economic structures is possible. The purpose of this chapter is to examine the resistance to revolution and the support of political authorities within Lutheran ethics. A main thesis is that a revision of traditional Lutheran political theology is necessary in order to make possible a critique of prevailing political and economic structures. The doctrine of the two kingdoms should be abandoned and political ethics should be related not only to the doctrine of creation but also to Christology and eschatology. Lutheran ethics can learn from liberation theology and ecumenical social ethics that liberation presupposes an ongoing revision of social orders. From an eschatological perspective, no existing social system is perfectly just, and therefore we should always strive for a permanent revolution.

Abstract [en]

This article gives a critical analysis of John Athertons's contribution to the dialogue between Christian social ethics and political economy. The purpose is also to demonstrate thet Christian ethical reflection should contribute to a critical examination of the contemporary economic order. A main thesis is that different responses to market economy and global capitalism are related to quite different approaches to methological issues within Christian social ethics. These various responses are also related to different interpretations of justice as an ethical impact on economic theory and practice.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this chapter is to present a critical analysis of attitudes towards legal positivism in Lutheran ethics. Lutheran legal philosophy has in certain respects accepted the basic premise of contemporary legal positivsm, namely that law and morality are to be sharply distinguised from each other. Contemporary Lutheran ethicist agree with legal positivism that morality os not a criterion of valid law, but they also agree with natural law theories that moral arguments influence and are foundations on the content in positive law. A main thesis is the article is that it is an important task of ethics to give a critical evaluation of positive law and to examine whether it is morally justified. However, if Lutheran ethics would give a constructive contribution to this critique, it should not take as its starting point the doctrine of the two lingdoms.

Abstract [sv]

Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The article deals with two basic problems within ethics and economics. The first problem concerns the conception of a good human life within political economy and economic theory. What are the oblects to value in economic analysis? The second problem concerns the conception of equality and the relationship between happiness and equality. What goods should be the objects for an equal distribution and why should such an equal distribution be promoted?
