Abstract [en]
This thesis examines the portrayal of politics, with certain regard to feminism, in Beyoncé’s music videos. The music videos Run the World (Girls) and ***Flawless are analyzed through a close reading, highlighting themes and values relating to feminism. These themes are dis- cussed in relation to the concepts of feminism, neoliberalism, post-feminism, girl power, and role models. I conclude that it is possible to trace affiliations with feminist values in Beyoncé’s music, but that these values are ambiguous in their content and form.
