In this article data from an interview survey among newlyweds and couples who have "published the bans," concerning the mate selection situation, are presented; and aspects concerning homogamy are discussed. Data illustrate that homogamy is to be found concerning social characteristics but not concerning personality characteristics. An assumption concerning "perceived" homogamy, i.e., the partners at mate selection tending to perceive similarities in each other, is presented as are data on the assumption. This assumption is confirmed.
