In this editorial to a themed issue of YOUNG: Nordic Journal of Youth Research, the authors discuss why an interdisciplinary approach in youth culture research can benefit from a critical reconsideration of concepts such as popular, sacred and youth. Likewise it is argued that such interdisciplinary endeavours, examplified by the contributions in this themed issue, also aids to a further and deepened understanding of this concepts also in relevant disciplines.
