The volume contains original essays by leding feminist scholars in the history of philosophy who ask basic questions: What is distinctive of feminsit work in the history of philosophy? is there a method that is disntictive of feminist historical work? How can women philosophers be meaningfully included in hte history of the discipline? Who counts as a philosopher?
The collection is a unique collaboration among philosophers from North America and the Nordic countires. It includes papers written from both analytic and continental philosophical perspectives and discusses both ancient and modern philosophers.
