Abstract [en]

How can the Acts of the Apostles present Jewish persecutors as God’s enemies? This essay examines the killing of Stephen and the presentations of Paul as a former persecutor of the church and as a persecuted missionary of Christ, concluding that Lukan Heilsgeschichte does not differentiate between the enemies of God and persecutors of the Jesus movement. For Luke, to persecute Paul is to become one of God’s adversaries.
