Abstract [en]

This study seek to understand the influence of the Swedish Green Party in the government's joint agenda. This is done through the comparison of the Swedish Green Party's election pledges and the government's financial plan, which is a part of the government's budget, regarding the following financial years: 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18. The election pledges presented in the Swedish Green Party's election manifesto for the period 2014 - 2018 are distinguished, counted and compared regarding whether or not they are represented in the financial plan during the mandate period. 227 election pledges are found in the election manifesto, of which 61 % are specific and 39 % are vague. An average of 42 % of the 227 election pledges are represented at least partially in the government's financial plans throughout the four financial years studied. 35 % of the election pledges are not represented in any of the financial plans and 65 % of the election pledges are represented at least partially in at least one of the financial plans. The Swedish Green Party's influence in the government's joint agenda is established.
