Abstract [en]

This thesis investigates whether Theresa May has been consistent and transparent in her outline of Brexit. The aim of the study is to assess whether the PM has lived up to the ideal of open society when conceptualising Brexit, has she provided clarity and taken a frictionless position in what future Brexit she espouses herself to see. This thesis does not rely on a theory but rather argues that the conceptualisation of Brexit and whether it is consistent or not is important for some democratic ideals. The method used is content analysis. The result confirm the idea that Theresa May has been consistent in some aspects but on major points, she has espoused several conflicting aims for the outcome of Brexit. Leading to the conclusion that she has been consistent in providing two different positions.
