Purpose/Aim: The main purpose is to explore why and for what reason a person uses Internet poker. I would also like to get increased knowledge of the dialectic between mediaactivity and the leisure context of men in which internetpoker is utilized.

Material/Method: Explorative interviews

Main results: New technology offers new opportunities for playing poker. Digital media make possible an extreme degree of compression in time of space. Users from all around the world meets in a virtual world. Internet poker is used in different purposes, both material, social and psychological.The possibility of winning money, get increased skills and get deeper involved with friends are some examples. The users are deeply involved before, during and after exposure. There is something very appealing for the users about the idea of playing Internet poker for a living; a new kind of culture and lifestyle build on flexibility, comfort and individuality.
