Why Skeptical Theists are Not Involved in a Scenario of Olly-Style Deception
2018 (English)In: Philosophical forum, ISSN 0031-806X, E-ISSN 1467-9191, Vol. 23, no 1Article in journal (Refereed) Published
Abstract [en]

According to the Global Skepticism Objection, Skeptical Theism has as a consequence that we should not be surprised if we are radically deceived by God. Stephen Law presents an amusing analogy about Olly and his reality-projector in support of this objection. In this paper, I present the Global Skepticism Objection and Law’s support for it. I then respond by restricting Skeptical Theism and justify this restriction by narrowing theism and by appealing to commonsense.  Finally, I conclude.
