The purpose of this study was to preliminarily investigate the effects of a valued living application designed to help people generate meaningful habits. Specific outcomes included Depression, Wellbeing and rates of meaningful behaviors. A secondary question was to investigate whether changes in Valued Living and Committed Action might precede changes in the outcome variables, indicating a possibility that these processes mediate the effects on the outcome variables. This study employed a single-case multiple baseline design with three participants, for a total of 6 weeks including baseline. Pre- and post measures, as well as shorter twice daily measures for each of the key variables, were analyzed in the study. Results indicated potential effects on all outcomes but not for all participants. Several practical issues limit the generalizability of the effects, which are discussed. This study serves as an initial exploratory analysis for furture research on this application, and informs the design and testing of similar solutions.
