This chapter contextualizes Linnaeus achievements with some examples of the intellectual and physical environments that formed the prerequisites of his work and then discusses some heritage aspects. Several cultural and natural heritage sites across the world are connected to each other via Linnaeus and his disciples. This chapter focuses some of those places in Sweden, showing how they influenced and inspired Linnaeus in a seminal way, and why they merit wider recognition. It is also discussed what role they have played for the promotion of Linneaus' reputation in our time and how they have been used in a heritigization process centred on Linneaus. Visual art works of different kinds have also contributed to this process and their role is also part of this discussion.
