Abstract [en]
Migraine is a common and potentially disabling disorder that is often associated with both physical and psychological suffering. Acceptance and Commitment therapy has evidenced promising results in decreasing migraine-related disability. However, the question of why change occurs at the level of the individual remains largely unanswered. Therefore, the present study employed a single-case multiple baseline experimental design to investigate how, when, and why change occurs during and internet-delivered Acceptance and Commitment treatment for individuals diagnosed with migraine. Varying results and few clear improvements hindered the investigation of change processes. However, results indicate the feasibility and acceptability of further investigations using high-frequency assessments to delineate the nature of change unfoldment in migraine-related disability at the level of the individual.
