Abstract [en]
In recent years, practioners have used the term Inclusive Mindset when describing diversity management and related topics in a workplace setting. However, a cohesive definiton of Inclusive Mindset, and instruments measuring Inclusive Mindset are absent in literature to date. The aim of this study was twofold, firstly to develop a Situational Judgment Test (Inclusive mindset SJT) and secondly, to investigate associations between personality traits, demographic variables, attitudes towards diversity (UDO) and Inclusive Mindset. Data collection was made through self-assessment data on an American sample sourced from MTurk. Validity and reliability of the SJT was assessed and correlation analysis showed significant positive associations between the SJT and UDO, suggesting that the SJT might be a useful tool for assessing Inclusive Mindset. Hierarchical linear regression showed that personality and demographics to some extent can predict Inclusive Mindset. Future research should include contextual variables to further explain the relationship between individual factors and Inclusive Mindset.
