Abstract [en]

This study is part of a one year Master´s degree in archival science. It concerns the work with listing and arranging of a family archive at the Regional Archives in Uppsala. The family archive I worked with is called the Öberg family archive. It consists of archival documents which belonged to Holger Öberg (1898-1998), but also of documents from family members.  As ingoing records creators are family members consisting of Gösta Öberg (1866-1998), Hilda Öberg (1866-1944), Vera Öberg (1895-1980) and one unidentified family relative named Lovisa Öberg. The archive also contains documents after Karin Thoreson, secretary in Gösta Öberg´s dental practice. The delivery of archive material to the Regional Archives in Uppsala was made by Julie White. The information on the archive is therefore obtained through the tasks that are orally narrated by Julie White and of my work. The archive is arranged after an archive schedule created by Martin Grass. The schedule consists of six main sections that are adapted and arranged to fit arranging and listing of personal archives. The main problem I encountered in arranging the documents was determining the provenance of several of the archival documents. My conclusion is that the Martin Grass´s archive schedule is a well suited method for arranging and listing of the Öberg family archive.
