Absence of phase transition in a magnetic field in the Fe0.55Mn0.45TiO3 Ising spin glass

Abstract [en]

We present dynamical magnetic properties in the presence of a static bias field on the 3d Ising spin glass (SG) Fe0.55Mn0.45TiO3. It exhibits critical dynamics only in zero field, suggesting that there is no Almeida–Thouless line for Ising SGs. Instead a dynamical crossover scenario, based on the real-space droplet picture, can explain the in-field magnetic properties. We also interpret the glassy nature of the field-cooled magnetization in accordance with the real-space picture.
