Struggling with reason: Dostoevsky as moral theologian
2009 (English)In: Studia Theologica, ISSN 0039-338X, E-ISSN 1502-7791, Vol. 63, no 2, 197-216 p.Article in journal (Refereed) Published
The purpose of the article is to suggest an interpretation of Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov as an advanced theological critique of practical reason. The author of the article argues that Dostoevsky's critique of rationalism can be described as three different models of a struggle with reason. These three mordels are represented by the figures of the three brothers Karamazov and are analysed in relation to the question of the existence of God as it is dealt with in the novel.
