The Bruno Liljefors room: A permanent exhibit at Museum Gustavianum (English)
This report is based on an art exhibit at Uppsala University’s museum, the Museum Gustavianum, in Uppsala, Sweden. The exhibit displays works by the famous Swedish painter, Bruno Liljefors, from the Uppsala University's Art Collections and was built during April, May and June 2010. I got the chance to do this project during my internship at the Uppsala University's Art Collections, and kept working on it even after my internship had ended, to get my one year master's degree. The project was more or less my own to handle as I saw fit but I got guidance and feedback from the staff at the Collections and the museum. The exhibit is placed in a room often used for conferences and similar activities and is meant to be permanent, and these circumstances had to be taken in consideration during the designing phase. It aims to be both aesthetically appealing and interesting, while not stealing too much focus. The exhibit further aims to show the variety of Liljefors's works and include as many aspects as possible. This report describes the process of building this exhibit. Designing and building this exhibit has been extremely instructive and valuable for me as a student, though not always easy. I've learned how to handle my lack of experience and how to cope with obstacles and setbacks.
