Abstract [en]

Carl Gustaf Svingel, a Swedish citizen, an opera singer, close to the royal family, chose a humanitarian life style, devoting his life to helping old people in Berlin. He was employed by Lutherhjälpen. From Haus Victoria he helped Willy Brandt and Herbert Wehner in their Ostpolitik. He was able to pass the wall and see people on the other side of the wall, some of them influential in DDR.
