Abstract [en]

The article is part of the volume of 20th century church history of Sweden. It describes the missionary organizations from 1910, when the International Missionary Council was founded. In 1922 the Swedish Missionary Council was constituted. The missionary organizations of Sweden worked ecumenically and most of them were in the mainstream. Leading missiologists became professors of missiology from 1930 in Uppsala. Academics and activists joined in the missionary purpose. Ethiopia, South Africa, the Congo have been major countries for Swedish mission agencies. The Pentecostals of Sweden made pioneering endeavours in Brazil and Burundi.
