1994 (English)In: A Century of Swedish Narrative. Essays in Honour of Karin Petherick / [ed] Sarah Death and Helena Forsås-Scott, Norwich: Norvik Press, 1994, 209-221 p.Chapter in book (Other academic)
The essay deals with the intricate question where the demarcation line goes between fiction and metafiction in Lars Gyllensten´s literary work. What one day is a metaliterary comment in his working notes can the next day move into a novel and form an internal part of its fabric and texture. The author argues that both these types of text are worthy of our attention. Very often one of them cannot be fully understood without the help of the other.
