Abstract [sv]

The interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The study was performed during three weeks in October to November 2011.

Results: The women´s experiences resulted in six themes; "To see the individual”, "Mind and competence", "Information and participation", "To make decisions", "The importance of closure" and “The significance of  response”. Important factors that emerged concerning a good treatment was presence and availability, empathy, the way the health care professionals showed respect and consideration, the ability to see each individual, a calm and warm reception, continuous and clear information and feedback. Factors that were considered to contribute a bad response was a lack of information, that the health care professionals showed stress and did not give feedback after the delivery.
