Abstract [en]

Game development is a major industry today.  Due to the complexity of game development, which require  a mechanism  for rendering  objects  on a screen and  managing  art,  sound  effects and  other  content  it  can  be difficult  for beginners  to get started. The purpose  of this project  was to see whether  or not the game development framework XNA created  by Microsoft is suitable for game  development  from a beginners  point  of view.  As a beginners  in game  development  we designed  and  implemented a game  demo  using  the tools  provided  in  Microsoft  XNA.  We  used  this  demo  as  a  base  for our evaluation of the  XNA  framework.    In  our  research  we have  found  that the  XNA  framework  provides  several  advantages that  we consider  to  be especially useful for beginners  in game development.
