Abstract [en]

The essay is response to a Manifesto for Biblical Studies by Roland Boer, which defines biblical studies as a non-confessional acadamic discipline. Stenström affirms this understanding but tries to show the complexities of the issue, with a Swedish academic context as point of departure.
