Judisk och kristen påsk: Ett gåtfullt samband
Uppsala University, Humanistisk-samhällsvetenskapliga vetenskapsområdet, Faculty of Theology, Department of Theology.
1998 (English)In: Svensk Exegetisk Årsbok, ISSN ISSN 1100-2298, Vol. 63, 261-272 p.Article in journal (Other scientific) Published
Abstract [en]

The article discusses the historical connection between Jewish passover -- which was not developed into the form known today until after the fall of the temple in Jerusalem in 70 C.E. -- and Christian Easter. It is difficult to be quite sure, but the author after an investigation of the sources concludes that Christian celebration of Easter probably emerged in Jerusalem in the first century and gradually became a feast observed by all Christian in the following centuries.
