The paper analysis the impact of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) on labour productivity growth in Sweden during the period 1993 to 2007 with a general purpose technology framework (GPT). Growth accounting is used to affirm ICT claim of being a general purpose technology, in other words a key factor behind prolonged GDP growth. The impact of ICT on the economy is measured trough three different channels; capital deepening of ICT-capital in all sectors, multi factor productivity growth in sectors producing ICT products and an estimation of TFP spill-over into sectors not producing but using information and communication technology.
