Description
Abstract [en]

As ICT has shown itself useful when it comes to promoting sustainability performance internally as well as externally to the organization, it also relates to the concept of sustainable development. Unfortunately, research on features of Open Innovation Software and their sustainability impact, as well as more general research on Open Innovation and organizational sustainability performance are scarce. By means of the core areas of sustainability Bengtsson et al 2012 we research sustainability relatedness of common features of idea management systems. The research shows that the investigated features are mainly directed towards providing user engagement, while features related to transparency, incentives and efficiency all may be seen as indirect effects of providing for user engagement in the idea management system. As a consequence, issues related to transparency, incentives and efficiency that may ensure innovativeness of the ideas and positive social sustainability as an outcome of the user experience, are placed on the manager.
