Teamverksamhet vid behandlingav patienter med funktionella symtom (Swedish)
Abstract [en]

Background: Functional patients have deviations that lack an organic explanation. A multimodal teamwork, physiotherapy included, is recommended.

Purpose: To examine experiences and perceptions, and to investigate the role of the physiotherapist, within the team for functional patients at the University Hospital of Uppsala.

Design and method: A qualitative, descriptive design based on semi-structured interviews with five different professions. Analysis was rendered through qualitative content analyses.

Result: All informants highlighted the importance of teamwork. They described factors that hampered and facilitated therapy. During the analysis five themes emerged: Treatment complexity, favorable outcomes of treatment, treatment, the roll of the physiotherapist and the roles of the different job types.

Conclusion: The informants had lack of knowledge regarding the work procedure of the other team members and their theory. A more obvious goal setting and way of working matters and also further research regarding this patient group.
