In this thesis, we investigate how real estate prices were affected by having wind turbines in the vicinity. We also study how attitudes towards wind power change during the process of wind power expansion in the vicinity. We have used data over real estate prices and data from interviews. Based on our real estate data, no conclusions can be drawn about whether or not wind turbines in the vicinity reduce real estate prices.
We can conclude that attitudes about wind power expansion in the respondent’s vicinity change during the implementation process. Attitudes towards wind power expansion in general are not affected.
