Abstract [en]

This chapter conceptualizes the organization of the firm as a function of its capability to solve complex problems through knowledge integration and argues that the project-based organizational form (P-form) is a specific configuration for such activities. The chapter describes the evolution and problem-solving capabilities of a P-form corporation, Asea/ABB, over a period of fifty years.
