Uppsala University, Disciplinary Domain of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Department of History.
2015 (English)Conference paper, Presentation (Other academic)
Abstract [en]

The keynote discussed comics as means of propaganda in World War II, and how they have been used as a favoured medium to spread both harmful and beneficial agendas by governmental institutions. Comics tell oss something about dominant power structures and the activities of governmental institutions even in the field of popular culture. With examples from the USA, Sweden and Germany.
