Abstract [en]

This paper presents Thor Heyerdahl's theories on the colonisation of the East Pacific and especially Easter Island (Rapa Nui). It is also a review of Heyerdahl's and associated researchers "Aku Aku" archaeological expedition in 1955-56 and the subseqent archaeological research that has been carried out on Easter Island in the wake of this pioneer research effort.
