Abstract [en]

There is a step change in the sociological study of religion which is marked by an intensified research agenda carried out both at Uppsala University and by the European Commission. Grace Davie has been part of thís changed focus on religion as both a resource and a problem in the European North. This change is exemplified by the paradoxical situation with religion as part of several different developments at the same time.
