Abstract [sv]

Avhandlingen Jews and Gentiles in Early Jewish Novels handlar om bilden av icke-juden i judiska noveller under hellenistisk tid. Avhandlingens syfte är att studera hur icke-juden och dennes religion beskrivs utifrån ett judiskt perspektiv. Materialet består av fem judiska texter: de tre bibelböckerna Rut, Ester och Daniel, den apokryfa Judit samt den pseudepigrafiska Josef och Aseneth.
