The company were the work was carried out cannot be named due to privacy laws.

The company wished to gain a better understanding of what happened when a

diagnostic kit was produced and examine the process improvement opportunities. To

be able to deliver their products with good in promised time.

The objective of this report is to give an indication on what acts are inhibiting the

production, packing and warehouse management and propose suggestions on how the

problems can be improved.

This shall serve as a basis for the company to work according to the theoretical

improvement suggestions. The company will also be able to use the mapping of

current processes as a basis for locating their own points which are considered to be

in need of improvement.

The report is based on the results of the mapping of the current processes that

occurred through the active participation as many elements in the processes that

were allowed due to the lack of training requirements.

Through the mapping of current processes several points that were acting inhibitory

were located through the use of, among other things, flowcharts.

Through the use of cause-and-effect diagrams and with the knowledgeable staffs help

to prioritize the points after how much they thought the points contributed to a

waste of resources and for being hazardous.

Priority determined the order in which the improvement work was done and how

much weight to put on the solutions. Improvement for the localized and weighted

points are based on the LEAN-philosophy and its tools such as 5S standardization and

planning boards were used throughout the work.

The weight of the thesis is at the end result obtained by the theoretical

implementations of the solution proposals. The proposals where those who were

considered to give a good result compared to the potential investment. The

improvement achieved by theoretically implemented improvement resulted in over

60% faster handling of the points concerned with a safer workspace and a higher
