Abstract [en]

Being able to access information from process monitoring systems mobile is a great advantage. Today there are several solutions to this, for example using email or applications. However, these solutions are not always optimal since applications require active development and emails are not always as flexible as one would wish. We have therefore developed a software extension that will allow systems to publish information about state changes from processes on already existing social networking services.

In this project we have chosen to cooperate with GE Healthcare to develop an extension to their software UNICORN which is used for monitoring and controlling of protein purification processes. The extension is currently developed towards Twitter but may in the future be developed so that it also works with other social networking services, such as Instagram, Facebook or Snapchat. Through our extension, users of UNICORN can take part of events from a process directly through Twitter.

Att kunna ta del av information från processövervakningssystem mobilt är en stor fördel. Det finns idag flera olika lösningar till detta, som att till exempel använda sig av mejl eller applikationer. Dock är dessa lösningar inte alltid optimala då applikationer kräver aktiv utveckling och mejl inte alltid är så flexibelt som man kan önska. Vi har därför utvecklat en programutökning som ska göra det möjligt för system att publicera information om statusändringar från processer på redan existerande sociala nätverkstjänster.

I det här projektet har vi valt att samarbeta med GE Healthcare för att utveckla en utökning till deras program UNICORN som används för övervakning och kontrollering av proteinreningsprocesser. Idag riktar sig utökningen mot Twitter men kan i framtiden utvecklas så att den även fungerar mot andra sociala nätverkstjänster som till exempel Instagram, Facebook eller Snapchat. Genom vår utökning kan användare av UNICORN ta del av händelser från en process direkt via Twitter.
