Money cards and identity cards.: De-vicing consumer credit in postwar Sweden2020Ingår i: Journal of Cultural Economy, ISSN 1753-0350, E-ISSN 1753-0369Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

This article has a twofold ambition. First, exploring the peculiar Swedish case, it contributes to the international history of credit cards dominated by the American narrative. Early adaptation of new banking technologies was in Sweden combined with negative general attitudes towards consumer credit. Although introduced early in a European comparison, credit cards needed to be reconceptualised, reshaped, and renamed to be accepted. Second, the paper’s contribution to the study of financial products and their intertwining with values, affects, and the rhythm of the everyday is that it reveals the role of de-vicing(Lee & Helgesson 2016), which refers to the strategies conducted by card issuers while dealing with the moral resistance. Marketers exploited the non-credit properties of the card in order to spread its use into the everyday practices of consumers. The card itself was turned into a device for de-vicing – destigmatizing – consumer credit. By looking at the technical and cultural arrangements built into the card, I unpack the workings of two de-vicing strategies which reconfigured cards 1. as modern money and 2. as membership/identity cards. The Swedish example reveals how plastic cards were reshaped in the forcefield between money and identity and became instrumental in reorganizing moralities of debt.

Hur spel blir kulturarv: En fallstudie om kulturarvsproduktion utifrån praktiker i Play Beyond Play på Tekniska museet2019Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 20 poäng / 30 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

This research explores games as cultural heritage. The purpose of this study is to contribute with knowledge about how games as cultural heritage is made. The study seeks answers to which principal museum practices that are being carried out in the work with games as cultural heritage and what constitutes them. Furthermore this study explains how these practices influences the making of games as cultural heritage. The analysis has been carried out on Play Beyond Play, a game exhibition made at Tekniska museet in Stockholm 2018, where practices is being understood and analyzed from a practice theory perspective with the use of games as boundary objects. The empiric data was collected through semi-structured qualitative interviews with people working with the content of the exhibition and an place-based observation of the exhibition itself. The concept of ”anchoring practices” has been used as an analythic method to find and sort which principal practices that were carried out. The analysis resulted in six principal practices in the work of knowledge and mediation of games as techinchal development, the role of playablity, the matter of thinking ctitically, the effect of practical limitations and possibilities, the implementation and use of research, and the certification of games as cultural heritage. These practices influence the making of games as cultural heritage by defining games, how knowledge about games should be carried out and why games is important as cultural heritage through the location, role and area of focus at Tekniska museet. The study contributes with explanations and reinforces the connection between practices and the use of objects to create and mediate knowledge about games, where the knowledge carried out is affected by the context where it is being created through a longer period of time.
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

In recent centuries the Swedish Tiled Stove has varied in its design with an aesthetic evolutionary history that has not only followed the architectural and artistic ideals but also the taste in stove design. The heat source has varied depending on the regional traditions and where it was located within the country, but the inside of the construction was of a similar five channel system. The purpose of this paper is to study and compare the design of tile matrices made by Emil Petterson with other Swedish stoves.

The following questions will be addressed:

What characterized the production of a small scale tile stove workroom during the years 1900-50? Which main styles can be described as Emil Pettersson’s ideal while producing his matrices? And finally, is it possible to study the tile stove matrices as objects of historical and cultural significance, and what difficult methodological issues might occur in the doing of it?

To answer these questions I will present the results of the documentation of Pettersson’s tile matrices with detailed historical categorizations and schedules. The conclusion shows that Pettersson as a stove builder and -producer was characterized by eclectic ideals and a design shape based on more liberal interpretations of contemporary trends. The studying of tile stove matrices showed that, despite its difficulties regarding the inverted shapes, it is a barer of great historical and cultural value and that it plays a key part in the historical context of tile stove ovens.

Museibutikens förutsättningar: Policy och praktik bland museibutiker i Stockholm2018Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 20 poäng / 30 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this master’s thesis was to investigate how museum stores are governed, with a focus on museum stores situated in museums in Stockholm and on museums stores which are part of a government agency. The purpose was also to investigate the relationship between the museum and the consumption in the museum store in general.

The thesis shows that museum stores which are part of a government agency are governed by their appropriation directions, including the direction that the museum stores must be fully financed. However, the museum stores are also influenced by guidelines that have not been written down, expectations from the museum and from museum patrons. Other factors not within the control of the museum were also of importance, and could limit the choices available for the museum store managers as well as be a source of inspiration. The result also shows that the museum store and the consumption it’s associated with, is seen as either a threat, a necessity or a possibility: The museum store is often viewed as being at odds with the main role of museums in general, while also being considered a necessity, helping the museum to meet the patron’s expectations. In some cases the museum could benefit from the museum store, due to the stores’ possibility of improving upon the museum visit, or making a profit usable in other museum activities.

The source material was gathered from the websites of international and national organisations within the museum field. Material was also gathered during interviews with museum store managers in Stockholm. The theory used was cultural economics and consumption studies. The method for this essay was interviews, minor field studies, linguistic analysis. The focus of this essay was how the museum store is governed. The essay does not, for example, research how the museum visitors or museum patrons experienced the shop.

    Abstract [en]

This paper is exploring Donna Haraways cyborg theory, in a perspective of Library- and Information Science. The investigation aims to better understand the occupation of librarians, and their position within knowledge creation through a digital and cyber technologically evolving society. The cyborg figuration, is making it possible to look at the librarian’s occupation in a postmodern-, posthuman-, and cyberfeminist perspective. The cyborg figure is a posthuman figure, a fusion between human and technology. Because of its interdisciplinary composition, the cyborg is cross-bordering and diversified in its nature. In a combination with Library- and Information Science the cyborg theory can produce new perspectives on our knowledge production.

The empirical investigation is made within the context of academic library research support, and Open Science. Throughout this development it becomes clear that the librarian is working in a coexistence between human and technology. This paper then demonstrates, that there is an analogy between the librarian and the cyborg figure, and especially in the context of the academic library. In this analogy, the cyborg librarian is constituted as a central phenomenon in a line of several developmental events – concerning the accessibility and dissemination of scientific knowledge creation, through the digital environment.

The cyborg librarian is then able to use the cyborg theory in this context, to cross over borders and create new perspectives. It can also create pedagogic tools for information instructions, that contribute to a deeper and more complex insight in knowledge production, as reality production. By evolving a critical, multimodal and reflective information literacy, and thereby also supporting the library institution in adopting to a postmodern society. Haraways cyborg feminism is also applying a perspective of social justice into the context of literacy instructions, whilst working in the same spirit as the democratic mission of the library institution.

    Abstract [en]

This master's thesis is a study of how librarians are depicted in crime fiction. 12 American and English mysterynovels featuring librarians in a central role were studied and analysed using character theory. Recurring traitswere identified and organised into themes. A number of prominent traits and themes emerged that show librariansas orderly and organised bibliophiles, but with a taste for adventure and excitement. They are keen problem solverswho enjoy a challenge, at work, or in the form of crime detection. These traits show fairly different sides ofthe characters, and hint of librarians having something of a dubble nature.

Some of the traits resonate with findings in earlier studies in the field, but the old stereotype was only parti -ally confirmed. In general the image of librarians presented in the mystery novels is a positive one, which inmany respects also rings true against the background of actual librarians and library work.

    Abstract [es]

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

My essay aims to illustrate how an industrial memory is created based on Sandvik AB's premises. Industrial heritage and industrial memory are interrelated, but have different characteristics and conditions. I examine what conditions are required to create an industrial memory in the form of a museum. I describe the problems that exist in the various industrial concepts and contribute with an analysis of the different concepts. I am using Sandvik AB as a case study and by using the identified criteria for an industry memory my essay show the process in which an industrial memory can be created. I further investigate whether Sandvik AB can create a museum based on there industrial heritage. My research proves this fact and I finish the essay by proposing how a Sandvik museum in Sandviken can be designed.

My research shows that Sandvik AB fulfills the criteria for being able to create an industrial memory from there industrial heritage. My research contribute with interpretations of the concepts of industrial heritage, industrial memory, living industrial memory and industrial history landscape. My essay shows that an industrial memory can represent a living company which shows against the usual view of an industrial memory as a representative of a discontinued production. My essay also examines two consulting firms which give proposals in creating a museum, a market that can be find outside Sweden. The research also contribute with supplementary proposals for the consulting firms different steps in the process of creating a museum. From a Swedish perspective, this study therefore contributes with a first proposal for the Swedish market in creating a museum.

    Abstract [en]

This thesis aims to study how librarians perceive the identity of the public library. This is done by focusing on how librarians perceive the library’s roles, values, and the role of the librarian. One of the analytical tools used to illustrate this complexity is theories on underlying values and identity perceptions in organizations. The method is semi structured qualitative interviews with public librarians. An initial method to structure the empirical data consists of a phenomenographic approach.

The findings show that the overall purpose of the library is to promote a democratic society where all citizens are equally valued. In order to do this the library needs to fulfill three main roles and some values. The main roles of the public library are to promote the availability of information, literature, and to be an open room for meetings. The values are to promote participation, critical thinking, and empathy among library users as well as to confirm users socially. The library’s resourses and services are valued for providng quality, variety, non-comersial intrests, and new perspectives. Furthermore, two basic values are to enrich people, eliminate inequalities, and by doing so promote human equality. The role of the librarian is to make sure that the resources and services of the library meet the criteria of all these roles and values. The librarian thus acts as an intermediary between these roles and values and the needs of the users and is therefore an important part of the library’s identity. The roles, values and the role of the librarian that make up this identity are presented in a model.

The study shows that any activity, meeting or recourse that goes against any of the roles or values might be seen as a threat against the library. Another finding is that perceptions of a limitless role of the librarian could also be considered a threat against the library’s identity.

    Abstract [en]

Introduction. I report an investigation designed to identify the contemporary role of digital resources for information retrieval, such as Alex Author-dictionary. This study proposes that it is essential to see digital resources and their specific place within contemporary structures for information retrieval, that digital resources relate to a broader context. My focus is facts beyond giving patrons access to a specific type of information about authors.

Method. This case study uses integration of qualitative content analysis from interviewees with data analysis. A pre-search interview and data-analysis along with follow-up interviews established some interesting perspectives on Alex Author-dictionary as well as aspects on digital resources for information retrieval. Transcripts of the interviews formed the data for analysis.

Analysis. Qualitative analyses were carried out from two preparatory email-interviews, one with the editor and one with a person who writes for Alex. Another pre-search interview and two following interview sessions, one with a school librarian and another with a public librarian, were conducted.

Results. It proved possible to demonstrate that Alex Author-dictionary as such has its benefits compared to sources from the internet. The results derive from and agree with some previous studies, especially that there is a where, when and how to use different resources. The web for example could advantageously give patrons access to other formats such as video interviews etc. that the library doesn’t hold.

Conclusion. I identify a need to enlarge the scope of how patrons teach users. Users of all ages would be benefited from knowing when to use Google and when benefited using other digital resources of information retrieval. This sound awareness is directly related to users need to develop skills, and then interpret their own actual information literacy. This could take place either in sessions of user education at the library, or from teachers in a school environment.

    Abstract [sv]

Material practices of power – part I: passports and passporting2015Ingår i: Design Philosophy Papers, ISSN 1448-7136, E-ISSN 1448-7136, Vol. 13, nr 2, s. 97-113Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

In this paper, passports are investigated as socio-technical artifacts with the capacity of interrogating the relation between design and politics. While they might appear as ‘trivial’ objects for some, passports tend to speak to the current political regime of mobility and more importantly immobility that produces refugee populations and undocumented migrants waiting in camps, transit zones or precarious clandestinity for several months and years. This inquiry in two parts aims to interrogate the artifacts of passport and its artifactual relations and practices – which I call passporting – in relation to the ways in which mobilities and immobilities are organized, controlled, regulated and shaped. Part I presents three interrelated ways of looking at passports: first, the historicity of passports and the ways in which technologies and material practices merge with the political, social and economic interests of specific times and spaces; second, the ways passports function and perform in a network of relations and ecologies which produce continuity as well as uncertainty with different effects, forms and scales in different environments; third, how passports and bodies change their positions constantly in the world in which the difficulties and uncertainties to locate either and/or become desirable space and time for manipulating and exercising power over undesired groups and individuals in local sites through a global rationale.

Material practices of power – part II: forged passports as material dissents2016Ingår i: Design Philosophy Papers, ISSN 1448-7136, E-ISSN 1448-7136, Vol. 14, nr 1&2, s. 3-18Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

While mundane for the privileged few, passports, as discussed in the first part of this paper (DPP vol. 13, no. 2), are rather strong, thick and extensive devices of articulating, partitioning and producing possibilities of access, movement and inhabitations in the world. They have emerged from a certain intersection of social and material forces and continue to produce and provide new environments of power relations. It was proposed that these articulations are better to be renamed as passporting, which recognizes the regimes of practices involved in such environments beyond the single artifact of passport. Part II takes much further this analysis through proposing four lines of reading the passporting regime: materialities; sensibilities; part-taking; and translating. These lines, which point to the ontological qualities of passporting, can also be enacted for intervening into the passporting regime which articulates to the current hegemonic order of mobility. I trace such possible interventions in the acts of forgery of passports. Forgery uses, enables, dissents and rearticulates these very four lines of the passporting regime in other directions than the ones imagined by their initial design. By discussing the practices of passport forgery in relation to the passporting regime, this article offers a material and critical understanding of the notions of citizenship and nationality.

The Design Politics of the Passport: Materiality, Immobility, and Dissent2019 (uppl. 1)Bok (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

The Design Politics of the Passport presents an innovative study of the passport and its associated social, political and material practices as a means of uncovering the workings of 'design politics'. It traces the histories, technologies, power relations and contestations around this small but powerful artefact to establish a framework for understanding how design is always enmeshed in the political, and how politics can be understood in terms of material objects.Combining design studies with critical border studies, alongside ethnographic work among undocumented migrants, border transgressors and passport forgers, this book shows how a world made and designed as open and hospitable to some is strictly enclosed, confined and demarcated for many others - and how those affected by such injustices dissent from the immobilities imposed on them through the same capacity of design and artifice.

    Abstract [en]

War, conflict, economic and environmental pressures are prompting mass movements of people from the Global South to Europe, USA and even far-distant Australia. This is being met with increasing efforts to contain, control and exclude them. Borders are sought to be secured by a variety of spatial and non-spatial practices that create virtual borders that are no less real in their effects -thus we can speak of borderwork, bordering and passporting, which Mahmoud Keshavarz does in an extensive study on 'Design-Politics' from which the following is extracted. The focus here is on the problematic role of humanitarian design in the exclusionary and frequently violent borderwork that is re-creating the Mediterranean Sea as European space. A design proposal for a 'life saving' line of buoys is given particular critical attention.

Orientations of Europe: Boats, the Mediterranean Sea and the Materialities of Contemporary Mobility Regimes2018Ingår i: Borderlands e-journal, ISSN 1447-0810, E-ISSN 1447-0810, Vol. 17, nr 2Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

This paper is an investigation of how the specific design and materiality of the artefact of the boat, as well as the various material, visual, technical and geographical practices at work in the space of Mediterranean Sea, orientate a specific space and produce a selective politics of seeing, saving and framing of bodies on the move. It highlights how the very presence and movement of ‘unseaworthy boats’ in this actively orientated space of the sea brings to the fore the many strategies and techniques that have been employed to make it a space of European control. We argue that this is an active and deadly orientation carried out in an often dispersed number of practices and interventions within a seemingly flat space of water. The paper concludes that border transgressors’ act of moving by boat, with all of the losses involved, both challenge and potentially reorientate European mobility regimes.

The Politics of Borders in the Emergence of Modern Swedish Craft2019Ingår i: Journal of Modern Craft, ISSN 1749-6772, E-ISSN 1749-6780, Vol. 12, nr 1, s. 13-24Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

Nation states have been imagined and constructed by defining certain identities and practices. Among cultural and economic practices bound to material culture, craft has played a significant role in the processes of imagining communities and consequently nationalities in modern times. These imaginations were produced and sustained by various discursive and materialized borders that were based on simultaneous practices of inclusion and exclusion, targeting certain bodies within the formation of a nation state. In this article, we discuss instances of such bordering in Sweden, by looking at specific state documents of controlling the movement and residence of those who were seen as suspicious and potentially threatening. Among these individuals were craftspeople with religious and/or ethnic backgrounds different than the imagined modern Swedish subjects. They were often represented as a threat to the economic, social, and cultural prosperity of the Swedish nation state. These individuals and groups, and their craft practices, were variously appropriated, erased, included, and excluded by the nation state. This article argues that an understanding of modern Swedish craft is impossible without recognizing the crafts that were excluded from its emergence, articulation, and sustainment over the last hundred years. This is to argue that an understanding of the politics of craft requires recognition of the borders that regulate how—and by whom—craft can be practiced.

    Abstract [en]

Theatres and museums share many similarities with each other. Therefore, it can be beneficial for museums to use the potential that performance and museum theatre can provide. The aim of this analysis is to gain a better understanding for museums’ reasons to use drama as an educational method and the different forms of drama that are being used. The following research is a comparative analysis of the use of the theatrical play “The Wider Earth” at London’s Natural History Museum as an educational tool and the active use of creative drama in Swedish museums. The main source material consists of qualitative textual data, collected by means of semi-structured interviews with staff members of all participating museums. For an additional perspective, an interview was conducted with one of the theatrical play’s visitors and my own observations of the play were considered. The theoretical frame for this analysis consists of performance theory, Susan Bennett’s model of theatre audience’s experience and Dorothy Heathcote’s and Gavin Bolton’s view on drama as a learning medium. The empirical source material was analysed by means of content analysis. The results show that more could have been done to incorporate “The Wider Earth” into the museum’s educational program to achieve a better visitor experience. The Swedish museums that are part of this research use different forms of creative drama, but the overarching goal is to combine memorable experiences with education. The main conclusion to this research is that the museum visitor plays a considerable part in every form of creative drama in the museum space because the holistic experience is created by visitor and museum together.

Climate control in historic buildings in Denmark2011Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

In many historic buildings, conservation heating has been used to control the RH in winter. Heat pumps are much more energy efficient than direct electric heating, so this technology may be adapted for climate control. Dehumidification has not been regarded as appropriate for historic buildings due to poor regulation, but recent development in electronic hygrostats makes this technology an attractive alternative. The annual energy consumption for both control strategies was calculated from statistical meteorological data for Denmark. The most energy efficient control strategy is determined by the U-value of the building, the air exchange rate and the volume. For large buildings conservation heating with heat pump technology seems to be the most energy efficient, unless the thermal insulation is very poor. For small buildings dehumidification is more efficient unless the building is very leaky. The two strategies for climate control were tested in historic houses owned by the National Museum in Denmark and used for exhibition only in the summer season. Kommandørgården has an uncontrolled climate in summer due to open doors in the opening hours. In winter the RH is controlled to 60-70% by hygrostatic heating. Liselund is an 18th century mansion located in a romantic garden on the island Møn at the Baltic Sea. The house is open only for guided tours in the summer, and the RH is controlled all year by dehumidification.

    Abstract [en]

This study examines the processes behind two of Moderna museets complementary projects: The Museum of Wishes and The Second Museum of Wishes. The purpose of this study is to, by using these projects, examine the connection between collections and collectors, and to examine the relationship between museums, complements of the collection and representation. The aim is to compare the projects and find out if there were different reasons, methods or other significant factors that might have affected the processes. I intend to explain how these projects can be understood as a practice of complementary collecting by relating them both to collection theory and representation.

My theoretical framework primarily consist of Susan Pearce’s research. I have chosen to incorporate her concepts of the poetics of collecting, the politics of collecting and the importance of earlier collected experience in my comparative study of the projects. In addition, I have also incorporated research about categories with the intention of relating it to Pearce. By studying literature that discusses the historical aspect of the projects, as well as articles, catalogues and documents that were contemporary with the projects, I have been able to compare the backgrounds as well as ideologies that might have influenced the projects.

The result of this study shows that although there were many differences between the methods and processes, the art works that were collected during the projects can both be interpreted as a physical changing of the collection, a changing of the structure of the collection and a changing of the identity of the museum. What the museum gathered during the projects didn’t just represent what the organizer thought the museum needed, but can also be understood as a way of changing the standard of the collection in order to be able to compete with other museums or gathering more knowledge.

    Abstract [sv]

Ra(ce)ising Questions About School: Analyzing social structures in a Swedish High School2017Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 30 poäng / 45 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

This thesis is based in a Swedish high school and scrutinizes social interaction among students. The material was gathered in semi-structured interviews and observations made outside of classrooms, but inside the school grounds. The study strives to analyze power dynamics that the students adhere to in their social relationships at the school. It uses intersectionality as an analytical tool to understand the gendered and racialized ways in which students understand themselves in the social complex as social beings within a system. Based on three months of ethnographic fieldwork conducted at this Stockholm-region high school during the spring of 2016, this essay also seeks to address the narrow ways in which Swedishness and non-Swedishness are constructed as dichotomous, as well as the power relations attached to acknowledgement of national belonging. Furthermore, the study analyzes ways in which students reinforce and communicate group belonging through attire, body language and speech. The thesis also considers how power dynamics stipulated by homosociality become an important factor in determining agency.

Conversations with Power: Soviet and post-Soviet developments in thereindeer husbandry part of the Kola Peninsula2015Bok (Övrigt vetenskapligt)
    Abstract [en]

The book examines the way people talk with power – and power talks back to them – in the context of authoritarian state regimes, the Soviet/Russian one being the case in point. My claim is, in the first place, that there does exist such a conversation. I thus strongly resist the reading of recent Soviet history in terms of people’s mute and passive subordination to crushing imposition of power, or at best – of forms of indirect resistance or escapism. Instead, my claim is that multi-layered communication between the pinnacle and the broad base of the social pyramid was part and parcel of the identity of the Soviet period all along.

As it is argued in the book, grassroots-with-power communication in the Soviet and post-Soviet context reflects a will and corresponding practice for a continuously re-negotiated arrangement with power. Its principal thrust is the establishing of a grassroots-to-power tensed compromise over such fundamentally critical issues like existential security and a degree of well-being. I argue for the presence of effective grassroots’ agentivity in the Soviet/post-Soviet context. To examine it I turn special attention to the period of enforced collectivisation of agriculture (1929-1934) in the context of the reindeer husbandry economy of what is today Murmansk Region of NW Russia. My specific ethnography takes a reindeer husbandry practice of mixing private and collective reindeer as a metaphorical expression of a risk-free socioeconomic arrangement I call ‘sovkhoizm’. My general conclusion is that a socioeconomic and political environment that has sovkhoizm as a principal worldview presents serious communicative obstacles as regards a generalized ‘western’ attempt, over the last two decades, for constructive dialogue on, particularly, the Sami indgeneity issue.

The ethnographic basis of the study comes from long-term fieldwork with Sami and Komi reindeer husbandry teams in Lovozero District, Murmansk Region.

    Abstract [en]

This paper addresses the new opportunities and pitfalls of smart cities, with a particular view to the maintenance and use of historical-cultural resources in a city. The emergence and wide-spread application of digital technology appears to shape a new arena for urban cultural policy analysis, especially in the framework of big data in relation to social media information platforms. The paper argues that in a digital age new forms of data metrics policy are needed for an affective cultural heritage policy in cities.

    Abstract [en]

The following thesis examine the former homes of Charlotte Berlin and Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, two women who in the turn of 20th century donated their homes and collections to be museums. The purpose of this essay is to examine how Charlotte Berlin’s Museum and the Hallwyl museum work with musealization and authenticity. Both Charlotte and Wilhelmina lived their life in a changing time, where emigration, industrialization and urbanization took place. They are both women from the upper-middle class but with differences such as economic ones which has an effect of the collection and the size of their homes. Further distinctions between them is that Wilhelmina was married and Charlotte was not. Wilhelmina lived in the capital of Sweden, Charlotte in the small town called Ystad. Their similarities is found in their collections of clocks, clothes, paintings and books but most of all in their determination to make their homes museums once they were gone. They sought to make sure that their changing time could be seen through their collection. By examine how this is visible in the rooms they left 137behind, it is possible to see the relationship between the props and the authentic objects. The signs of it now being a museum, as cordons and glass stands, collaborates with the presence of the former inhabitants as well as movemements, seen through objects like chairs placed slightly obliquely. This essay also establish a new term called affective authenticity, which describe and develop the sensation of the past, the relation between the imagi-nation and the reality and the connection between people, objects and the milieu, with the importance that every-thing does not have to be all authentic, but has to mediate it. This is a two year’s master thesis in Museum and Cultural Heritage Studies.

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

"Traveling is like living a little life inside of your own life": - en studie av backpackerns varande och görande2015Självständigt arbete på grundnivå (kandidatexamen), 10 poäng / 15 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Materialet består av Miley Cyrus hitsingel We Can't Stop, samt dess musikvideo.
