Kapitalkravs Inverkan på Bankers Tjänsteutbud och Kundhantering: – i ljuset av Basel III2013Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Customer Service Quality in Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO): Prepayment Customer Service2012Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCO), state owned monopoly that generates, transmits, and distributes and sales electric power nationwide, has been undergoing various continued utility management practices.

One of the major improvements, as part of the transformation, was the introduction of Prepayment (Metering) System, over that of the conventional metering service, which had been forcing the Corporation to follow lengthy service processes, in order to support the realization of its long term strategic vision of providing quality electric service and being competitive in an energy export.

However, despite the introduction of this new type of service-prepayment customer service, the Corporation has not been able to attract more than only about five percent out of the two million total customers.

Therefore, this study tried to assess and analyze the existing practice (quality) of prepayment customer service both from the employee and the Corporation’s perspectives, and thereby propose possible marketing strategies that are capable of improving the customer service quality for the subsequent adoption of prepayment service. SERVQUAL, as a methodological approach to service quality measures, was employed to measure the prepayment service quality by comparing customers’ perception of the received service against their expectations.

Accordingly, the study revealed, despite its limitations, that there has been a substantial gap between customers’ expectations and perception of the service rendered, for which different possible marketing strategies were suggested for improvement.

Scenario Planning: Preparing for the future during uncertain times.2021Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Background and past studies: The effects of uncertain times include fluctuating markets anddemands rapid and agile means to cope with said fluctuations and occurring changes. Scenarioplanning is considered a great tool for coping with uncertainties and preparing means for futureevents.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to study how businesses implement and use scenarioplanning as a tool to minimize uncertainty in a volatile environment.

Research question: How is Scenario planning utilized to minimize uncertainties in a volatileenvironment in large organizations within Sweden?

Method: The study implements a qualitative approach where semi-structured interviews wereconducted with members within the top management of said seven companies. Complementarydocuments shared by the respondents have been utilized.

Results and Conclusions: The results indicate that the organizations mainly conduct threescenarios ranked by either impact or probability of occurrence. The main purpose of scenarioplanning is readiness for action in case of sudden deviations with less focus on prediction offuture deviations. The process of conducting scenario planning is interactive and multi-leveledwithin the organizations with mainly a bottom-up approach.

Accounting in Football: A Study on the Human resource accounting of football players in Allsvenskan2017Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Human resource accounting has grown in importance over the past few years as organizations that heavily rely on their labour force and their skills seek to account for them as assets to reflect their output. Football clubs fall into that category as players are vital for the success of the team. Accounting regulations such as the UEFA financial fair play exist in order to help football clubs account for their players as intangible assets on their balance sheets. However, there are uncertainties over the effectiveness of existing regulations as youth players and Bosman players for example are exempted and there are difficulties in specifying what it is that players account for. The authors study 4 clubs that compete in Allsvenskan as well as UEFA competitions in order to determine if Swedish teams present a fair and true value of their human resources. The authors find that despite the fact that balance sheets show a great degree of consistency between clubs and all meet minimum requirements set by ruling bodies, financial reporting in football still has some way to go in order to fully reflect the true value of players.

Divestment Under Political Crisis: Swedish MNCs Response to Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine2023Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The exogenous shock that Russia's invasion of Ukraine entailed brought great challenges and demands for change in companies worldwide. Governing under these conditions is not easy, nor is knowing what is actually right to do. There is research on turbulent environments and exogenous shocks, divestments, and legitimacy, but research on the interaction between these is limited. In this study, we examine how companies have responded to exogenous shocks, more specifically how Swedish MNCs have acted and communicated as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The study consists of 69 Swedish MNCs that were active in Russia pre-invasion and their communications and actions as a result of this event, with data drawn from press releases, company reports, state registers and the media. The results show that many of the examined companies have acted in a similar way and divested the Russian market, albeit with varying quickness and forcefulness, thus adopting an approach consistent with what may be considered to be a legitimate strategy, with a few exceptions where the companies' actions has not been as consistent. What this means is that despite the fact that these decisions are made by the respective company management, the measures are generally in line with each other, which may be a result of pressure from both internal and external stakeholders and society at large.

Lending Relationships and Monetary Policy2009Report (Other academic)
    Abstract [en]

Financial intermediation and bank spreads are important elements in the analysis of business cycle transmission and monetary policy. We present a simple framework that introduces lending relationships, a relevant feature of financial intermediation that has been so far neglected in the monetary economics literature, into a dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model with staggered prices and cost channels. Our main findings are: (i) banking spreads move countercyclically generating amplified output responses, (ii) spread movements are important for monetary policy making even when a standard Taylor rule is employed (iii) modifying the policy rule to include a banking spread adjustment improves stabilization of shocks and increases welfare when compared to rules that only respond to output gap and inflation, and finally (iv) the presence of strong lending relationships in the banking sector can lead to indeterminacy of equilibrium forcing the central bank to react to spread movements.

Kommunikationskanaler för utlandserfarenhet: Jämförande studie mellan Sandvik AB och Uppsala universitet2013Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

CSR and CSV: The Managerial Interpretation of a Blurry Line2018Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

From the moment the concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV) was introduced in 2011, it was by some considered to be an evolutionary way of contributing to society whereas for others it initiated an ongoing critical debate. This debate that is taking place on the academic scene has, among other things, focused on defining what CSV really is and differentiating it from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This is mainly because the critical side believes that CSV is unoriginal and strikingly similar to CSR. Interestingly, in practice companies are implementing CSV in many different ways and some are adding it to their CSR strategy. The fact that these two concepts are closely related has led to a blurry line, which in return has caused disagreements in the mentioned debate. Given the above, we aim at understanding how managers interpret and implement CSV in comparison to CSR and what the differences between these two concepts are in practice. Data was collected by employing case studies which entailed semi-structured interviews with company informants. The findings indicated that managers interpret CSV as a way of contributing to society as well as the firm’s business simultaneously, and thus the implementation of the concept is highly industry-specific. CSR on the other hand, was mostly interpreted as a way of conforming to external pressures and is therefore implemented in relatively similar ways across the companies interviewed. In contrast to academia, it was indicated that managers are more interested in infusing the above two concepts than separating and differentiating them.

A pre-downturn comparison on capital structure strategy, from the perspective of a Swedish retailer2010Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Capital structure decisions and impacts have always been on top of every CFO’s and shareholder’s mind. Many theories have been presented and so far, no ap- parent consensus regarding how, why or when financing should be done in order to maximize firm value, exists.

This thesis relates the most prominent theories to KIN Group, one of Swedens major retailers with the aim to uncover the underlying factors for its financing decisions. The study gathers data from 2007 in order to capture the complexity of managing, not only a rapid-growing private company, but also while combat- ing challenges of the recent financial downturn in 2008.

Semi-structured interviews are conducted with the CFO and the company’s two shareholders and a significant quantity of raw financial data is analyzed. The findings suggest that the most applicable forms of framework in the KIN Group case are the market timing theory due to information asymmetry and hence, the willingness to finance ownership based on market trends. As a private company, this becomes a little bit more difficult since pricing of shares becomes a complex process. In this context, shareholder and investor perception of future cash flows differed, and hence the given offer was considered underpriced. Second, the firm demonstrated the principle of least effort approach, which is a pragmatic frame- work for financing decisions. This had great impact on KIN Group’s pursuit for capital, and as the debt-levels already was burdened, equity was the only feasible choice. Third, the findings show that no other of the academic theories covered in this thesis is applied within KIN Group in their obtaining of capital structure.

Finally, the findings covered in this thesis suggest that the firm value creation was to a high degree dependent on the leverage undertaken by KIN Group. By implementing WACC calculations, we can conclude that the firm value had increased to an approximate level of MSEK 686.5 by the end of 2010. By conducting a what-if analysis, assuming no leverage and 15% annual growth, the firm value would instead have reached a level of approximate MSEK 167.

The opportunities of SMEs in the context of digital business: A qualitative study in the COVID-19 era2021Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Research Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify the opportunities that COVID-19 crisis has created for SMEs, in particular those involving digital technologies. I also describe and how SMEs can improve their functionality, efficiency accessibility and sales by using these technologies for internationalization.

Research Questions:  What international business opportunities do digitized SME’s find in the covid-19 lockdown?

Methodology: This study is followed by qualitative research and inductive approach. The data collection was done by semi-structured online interviews. Ten people running small and medium-sized businesses are the convenience sample of the study.

Findings: For the advancement of several digital platforms, SMEs are continuing their international operations during COVID 19 pandemic. Many SMEs forced to go online during the pandemic, which also helps them become global players. By utilizing social media, online payment platforms, online e-commerce marketplaces, regular SMEs are now converting as digital businesses. By adopting digital technology, SMEs are now able to work smoother than before by having new functionality, efficiency and accessibility. SMEs that involved with the digital business from long ago are also experiencing noticeable growth during the pandemic. On the other hand, some SMEs are also suffering as their overall business operation get interrupted by the pandemic.

Research Limitations: The total number of interviewed respondents was only 10 due to the limitation of time scope and all of the interview done online. A larger study sample with physical interview are a possible direction of future work.

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

The ‘wicked trinity’ of late capitalism: Governing in an era of stagnation, surplus humanity, and environmental breakdown2023In: Geoforum, ISSN 0016-7185, E-ISSN 1872-9398, article id 103691Article in journal (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

Scholars within the fields of political ecology, environmental political theory, and international political economy tend to evaluate the prospects of state-led environmental transitions in general terms – enquiring as to the capitalist state’s inherent properties and their environmental implications. Less attention has been paid to how the state’s green capacities are conditioned by contemporary evolutions in the form and pace of capital accumulation. Capitalism’s directional pattern of historical development poses unique challenges for green state projects. Its drive to raise labour productivity metabolises nature on a growing scale, while generating conditions of overproduction and rendering a progressively larger portion of the population superfluous to the production process. Thus, the question is not simply whether the state can rise to the challenge of climate change, but rather how states are scrambling to govern the intersecting crises of climate catastrophe, economic stagnation, and surplus humanity. This ‘wicked trinity’ compounds the tensions at the heart of the capitalist state, resulting in an increasing inability to perform its role while sustaining its liberal form. This governance trilemma is illustrated by the case of the solar photovoltaic boom, where the spectacular increase in the productivity and scale of solar panel manufacturing have generated oversupply and falling profitability. States have reacted by indefinitely providing subsidies, financing automation technologies that exacerbate labour superfluity, and relocating solar panel manufacturing to places with authoritarian labour regimes. The case of photovoltaics is a microcosm of the general predicament faced by states as they struggle to govern capitalism’s secular developmental tendencies.

The effects of consumer confusion on decision postponement and brand loyalty in a low involvement product category2012Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Consumer confusion, caused by product similarity, choice and/or information overload, and the presence of ambiguous information, can negatively affect consumersʼ decision making, and thereby also companiesʼ profitability. The purpose of this quantitative study was to investigate how the three variables (i.e. similarity, overload, ambiguity) of Walsh et al.ʼs (2007) consumer confusion proneness model affect consumersʼ decision postponement and brand loyalty, concerning low involvement products. A conceptual framework based on consumer behavior- and consumer confusion literature, was utilized to form six hypotheses predicting the causality between the different variables. After validating and adapting the scale to data gathered through a survey, regarding Swedish studentsʼ purchasing habits of laundry detergent, two standard multiple regressions revealed that one hypothesis was supported; overload confusion proneness decreases brand loyalty in a low involvement product category. All implications were then discussed from practitionersʼ and researchersʼ points of view, concluding with possible limitations and further research.

Strategiska beslut vid utlandsetableringar - en studie av fyra bioteknikföretag2004Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    A1205

Syfte: I uppsatsen studeras internationaliseringsprocessen hos fyra svenska bioteknikföretag.

Dokumentation av gamla fall: Dess betydelse för kunskapsöverföring2008Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Påverkar vd:ns kön sambandet mellan prestation och avsättningsrisk?2023Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Examining the applicability of a master's program in entrepreneurship across diverse career paths: A comparative analysis2023Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

While research on entrepreneurship education increased along with the number of programs, little is known about whether students value certain components of entrepreneurship education differently based on their career choice. In this thesis, we want to close this gap by investigating whether there is a difference in the perception of the learning experience among graduates of an entrepreneurship program who chose employment versus those who became business owners. Using comparative analysis, we examined a survey among 93 alumni of the master’s program in entrepreneurship at Uppsala University between 2014 and 2022. Our findings indicate that the program is applicable regardless of the career chosen. However, the level of applicability varies throughout different course concepts and theories. We also noted differences in where the alumni put emphasis and found that contextual factors might influence the effectiveness of entrepreneurship programs. This research contributes to understanding the applicability of entrepreneurship education programs depending on career preferences and gives insights into the relevance and effectiveness of such programs. This study provides relevant implications for universities offering entrepreneurship education and future students considering them based on their career preferences.

The aggregate labor market effects of the Swedish Knowledge Lift program2009In: Review of economic dynamics, ISSN 1094-2025, E-ISSN 1096-6099, Vol. 12, no 1, p. 129-146Article in journal (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

The Swedish adult education program known as the Knowledge Lift (1997-2002) was unprecedented in its size and scope, aiming to raise the skill level of large numbers of low-skill workers. This paper evaluates the potential effects of this program on aggregate labor market outcomes. This is done by calibrating an equilibrium search model with heterogeneous worker skills using pre-program data and then forecasting the program impacts. We compare the forecasts to observed aggregate labor market outcomes after termination of the program.

Career interruption and subsequent earnings: a reexamination using Swedish data1996Report (Other academic)
    Abstract [en]

This paper reexamines the link between career interruptions and subsequent wages. Using a rich new Swedish dataset, we are able to disaggregate time out of work into several components. Regressing log wages on aggregate total time out leads to the standard result, i.e., a negative coefficient on time out. However, we find that different types of time out have different effects on wages and that these effects vary by gender. This casts doubt on the usual human capital depreciation interpretation that has been placed on the negative coefficient of total time out in the wage equation. We propose a simple signaling model as an alternative interpretation.

The influence of status on satisfaction with relative rewards.2013In: Frontiers in psychology, ISSN 1664-1078, Vol. 4, article id 804Article in journal (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

This study investigates how induced relative status affects satisfaction with different relative payoffs. We find that participants with lower status are more satisfied with disadvantageous payoff inequalities than equal or higher status participants. In contrast, when receiving an advantageous payoff, status does not affect satisfaction. Our findings suggest that relative social status has important implications for the acceptance of income inequalities.

    Abstract [en]

In this paper, we examine the attitudes of 16- to 19-year olds towards stealth viral marketing in the form of videos posted on websites such as Youtube. Apart from their general attitudes towards the phenomenon, we were also concerned with their views on the ethics involved in this marketing method and how this affects their view on the companies behind the advertising. To accomplish this, we administered a survey to a sample chosen by convenience. Using the Persuasion Knowledge Model and prior research on the subject, we then analyzed the gathered data and reached the conclusion that the respondents in our sample were mainly positive towards stealth viral marketing in this particular form, that they generally did not consider it unethical and that even though most considered the companies to be responsible for such videos, teenagers were not likely to take negative actions against them if they found out that a video that they had seen was in fact a stealth viral video.

Att titta i backspegeln: En fallstudie om hur lärdomar lagras – från en global kris till en annan2020Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Sustainable Innovation - Driving Factors in Large Firms2016Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

During recent years, there has been a growing interest in sustainable innovation both in academia and in practice. Our qualitative, multiple case study examines this emerging field in the context of large firms. By doing so, this thesis contributes to the understanding of the concept as well as the underlying factors driving sustainable innovation.

Theory highlighted both external and internal factors in firms’ sustainable innovation engagement. The empirical evidence identifies five key factors driving sustainable innovation in large firms; market demand, new business opportunities, interfunctional collaboration, management commitment and corporate culture. Furthermore, it clarifies to what extent each of the factors affects the process of developing sustainable innovation within firms. These factors are found to go together, sometimes collide and enhance one another. This study is built on rich data collected through semi-structured interviews together with secondary sources from four of Sweden's largest and industry leading firms; Atlas Copco, Ericsson, H&M and IKEA. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed with important insights for both scholars and practitioners.

Just Me, Myself and I?: The Cultural Impact of Self on Emotional Brand Attachment2016Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Emotional brand attachment has emerged as an important marketing concept that can strengthen a brand's performance. One way to create emotional bonds with consumers is to match the brand's personality with the consumer's self-concept (i.e. self-congruence). Nonetheless, research on brand attachment has a strong westernized focus leaving a vast majority of the world's population outside the frame of research, which limits our understanding of how consumers perception of self form emotional attachments to brands across cultures. We address this issue by developing the novel construct of ought self-congruence and test a conceptual model in two large scale studies including 810 respondents from Sweden and South Korea. The results showed similarities as well as unique cultural differences. Brand personalities in line with a consumer's actual self-view yield the strongest positive impact on emotional brand attachment in both cultures. However, an ideal self-congruent brand only showed a positive impact on Swedish consumers or when the self is sculpt independently from others. In contrast, South Koreans formed attachments to global brands that were congruent with an ought self-perception. A consumer's regulatory focus provides a theoretical explanation to the mixed results. Avenues for further research and managerial implications are also proposed.

    Abstract [en]

This thesis explores attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence within the Swedish Public healthcare system. The goal of the study was to attain a deeper understanding of how hospitals and healthcare officials perceive and think about the technology and what it means to them in their professional life. Our primary data was collected from ten interviews conducted with decision-makers at Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm and Akademiska University Hospital in Uppsala. The material was analysed through a discourse analysis, through which four themes were identified, each of which describes a notable attitude among the respondents and how they were manifested. The results show that earlier organizational structures and approaches are more important to the organization members’ sense-making process, than the sense-making process of new technological innovations and implementation. Decision-makers' attitudes towards AI have less to do with the technology itself and more with how they perceive their organizations and what it means to perform healthcare. Furthermore, the results also show that pre-set notions and attitudes about how healthcare should be conducted affects implementation and use of AI in the healthcare sector. This thesis contributes by highlighting a social perspective of AI in healthcare and demonstrates that AI is more than just a technological phenomenon.

How Does Image Accompany Structure in Organizations? Exploring Professionalism and Managerialism in the Organizational Images of Swedish Hospitals2013Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

With the emergence of New Public Management in the 1980s, Western public sectors saw a gradual shift in logics of work control from professionalism to managerialism. For public sector organizations to attain legitimacy in this new climate, their organizational structures have been aligned according to extant societal expectations of managerialist efficiency. In addition to structure, organizations are also asked to have an organizational image that appeals to the same societal expectations if legitimacy is to be achieved. The pursuit of legitimacy is an aspect that connects image and structure but this has been neglected in previous research. Against this, the purpose of the present thesis is to explore whether and how changes in organizational image covariate positively with shifts in organizational structure. In order to investigate this, an organizational discourse analysis has been conducted on a sample of Swedish hospitals’ webpages in 2005 and 2013 as a way to learn more about the distribution of professionalism and managerialism in these entities’ images. The results indicate that the two logics of work control have increased between the studied years but managerialism displays a slightly bigger growth. Nevertheless, a blend of professionalism and managerialism is what is most apparent in the organizational images of the sampled hospitals in both 2005 and 2013. While previous literature has argued that organizational structures have shifted decisively towards managerialism, this thesis indicates that the change has been more nuanced when it comes to organizational images.

Kostar det så smakar det?: Ett experiment för att se om varumärkeskonsumenter upplever högre produktkvalitet vid ett högre pris.2011Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

We use a randomized field experiment in Sweden to investigate how self-employment experience is valued in the labour market. Our results show that self-employment experience negatively impacts the likelihood of receiving a positive response from employers. For male applicants, this holds regardless of ethnic background, and independently of whether we consider applicants with experience solely from self-employment, or applicants with combined experience from wage employment and self-employment. For female applicants, the results are less clear-cut. Our findings provide input into the discussion about the impact of self-employment on the chances for individuals with different ethnic background to obtain wage employment.

    Immigrant-native differences in long-term self-employment2022In: Small Business Economics, ISSN 0921-898X, E-ISSN 1573-0913, Vol. 58, no 3, p. 1661-1697Article in journal (Refereed)
    Abstract [en]

We study immigrant-native differences in long-term self-employment in Sweden combining population-wide register data and a unique survey targeting a large representative sample of the total population of long-term self-employment. Using the registers, we analyze the evolution of labor and capital incomes during the first 10 years following self-employment entry. We find that immigrant-native differences in labor income become smaller, whereas immigrant-native differences in capital income grow stronger, over the course of self-employment. These findings are robust to controlling for factors such as organizational form and type of industry. We use the survey data to gain further insights into immigrant-native differences among the long-term self-employed, and show that immigrant self-employed experience more problems and earn less, but work harder than native self-employed. They also have a less personal relation to their customers, do not enjoy their work as much as natives, and appear to have different perspectives on self-employment in general.

A natural economic experiment: An analysis of the macroeconomic consequenses of the Indian Ocean tsunami in Sri Lanka2006Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

In this thesis we analyze the macroeconomic impact of the tsunami in 2004 on the Sri Lankan economy. The theoretical framework we use, the Australian model of a developing economy, gives direct or indirect predictions for the development of a number of variables after a natural disaster. In our case, we believe that the main reason for developments of the output variables and the exchange rate is the extraordinary large and rapid inflow of foreign aid money. In summary, we find the overall impact of the tsunami on the Sri Lankan economy to be minor.

Att mäta tjänstekvalité inom B2B2008Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Medan p-värden redovisades i tabeller.

Strategic integration in the Swedish nutritional online and offline market2016Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how e-business might be integrated into a strategical framework. The strategical framework was based on the Nilsson and Rapp (2005) strategical framework, and e-business strategies were mainly based on customer relationship management strategies that are used in e-commerce companies. We selected Gröndals Apotek, Nu3 and Apotek Hjärtat as our sample, semi-structured interviews as our method and we found that given the external factors in the business environment, retaining and extending online marketing strategies could be integrated into the corporate strategy without taking into consideration of the firm-size. In addition, we found that e-business acquisition strategies such as SEM and blogs were more useful for different firm-sizes in order to create strategic congruence of integrating e-business into the corporate strategy. Lastly, online customer service and pricing were two features that could be appropriate features in the integrated online marketing strategies that aim’s in displaying the competitive advantage.
