Transforming Collections : Socio-political discourses of heritage2009Proceedings (redaktörskap) (Övrigt vetenskapligt)
    Abstract [en]

Before and after the South African democratic election in 1994 South African museums had in earnest started to reconsider the production of heritage. This is referred to as Transformation and entails a transition from apartheids racial and unjust society to democracy. Transformation in terms of museums led to a body of negotiations concerning laws, regulations and policy documents aimed to change the outcome of heritage production and find new ways to represent a multicultural South Africa. This paper aims to address Transformation in collections based on field research (2004-2007) carried out in ‘Msunduzi Museum Incorporating the Voortrekker Complex’ and the ‘Natal Museum’ both located in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The museums represent an Afrikaner respectively an anglophile institutions that has become multicultural institutions. I will exemplify how Transformation in collections was brought about, what was changed and what remained and how the museums negotiated acts and policy documents to alter heritage productions. Coupled with Transformation is the critique of museums as eurocentric, colonial and apartheid productions given negative association. This is employed to polarise Transformation against past eras to locate the political position from where Transformation is argued. However the critique only reflects a simplified version of a complex heritage landscape and I will explain the many similarities in the articulation and consistency of collections in past and present times to highlight the multivocal and complex socio-political transition of South African museums.

    Abstract [en]

Abstract:This paper provides a presentation of the project Ulleråker – funktionsnedsättning och kulturarv funded by the National Heritage Board. The project seeks to investigate the transformation of Ulleråker, a former psychiatric hospital in the outskirts of Uppsala (Sweden). The project will study how cultural heritage is transformed, and formed, during urban development and rebuilding processes, with a particular focus on gender and functionality norms. The project examines different kinds of material in order to illuminate how cultural heritage is articulated and materialized in the area. The material is analyzed using a composite theory of critical heritage studies coupled with crip and gender studies. The purpose of the project is to contribute to develop methods and theories in how to deal with the cultural heritage of psychiatric hospitals during times of transformation. Keywords: Psychiatric hospitals, gender, functionality norms, cultural heritage, museum, mental health geography.

    Abstract [en]

This master thesis is about the Estonian-Swedish astro-optician Bernhard Schmidt (1879-1935) and his legacy. He was born on the island of Nargö outside Tallinn in Estonia. In 1930 he invented a special optical system for telescopes called the Schmidt telescope or Schmidt camera. At that time Bernhard Schmidt was working as a freelance at the Bergedorf observatory outside Hamburg in Germany. His invention contributed to astronomical research which changed our view of the sky and of the universe. The time he was living in was politically turbulent and science was flourishing. The written sources about Bernhard Schmidt and his telescope are mainly published in German, Russian, Estonian and English. Almost nothing is published in Swedish. The sources to his personal history and the archive material concerning him are partly scattered and it is difficult to assemble a complete picture.

The purpose is to find and to map out what kind of archive material is preserved about him. The aim is also to find out who is in charge of it and how accessible it is. Is there global access to the material? Observatories, museums and archives in Sweden, Germany and Estonia were visited to map his legacy. The theories of James Cuno (2008) and the triad or three principles of management: preservation, knowledge and access were used in the analysis of the findings. Most material is kept and preserved at the Hamburg Bergedorf observatory, University of Hamburg. This is also the place where Bernhard Schmidt spent the last years of his life and it is here we can find his burial site. At the Hamburg Bergedorf observatory today there is a Bernhard Schmidt archive, a Schmidt museum with the first prototype of his telescope and an archive of photographic plates with photographic pictures of the stars and other astronomical objects. The two archives are in a digitalizing process and when completed they will be globally accessible and a part of our global heritage.

    Abstract [sv]

Cars, motoring and sustainable movement(s)2013Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

Modern society can be said to be a "car society" since it has been designed to fit the needs of the private car. This paper discusses the relation between cars, mobility, planning and sustainability in cultural perspectives. It discuss the historical roots and contemporary landscape of car culture and the sociocultural factors that reproduce it, such as planning and infrastructure (urban-rural-traffic); the car as sign of status, adulthood, flexibility, masculinity, and the car as "space of one’s own" in embodied habits. In recent years, cars and mobility have been subject to several studies and interdisciplinary research projects. Many of these highlight the ambivalent position of the car: on the one hand as symbol of individual freedom, mobility and speed, but on the other as the source of problems as fatal accidents, pollution, smog, noise, congestion, road rage, barrier creation, unjust land use, erosion of natural cultural heritage, reduced bodily exercise/movement, hazardous particles and not at least climate change. An important point is the gap between science and policy: for decades research has problematised increased motoring, and with the goals to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, most research and government agencies says that driving need to reduce. In spite of this motorized mobility is reinforced on local, national and global level. However we can initiatives around the world that that challenge "car-normativity", which will be discussed. What kinds of mobility and movements are sustainable for humans, other beings and the world?

Kritiska kultur- och naturarvsstudier: Rapport från Association of Critical Heritage Studies Inaugural Conference: Re/theorizing Heritage, Göteborg, Sverige, 5-8 Juni 20122012Ingår i: Nordisk Museologi, ISSN 1103-8152, nr 2, s. 121-127Artikel i tidskrift (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

The inaugural conference of The Association of Critical Heritage Studies, on the theme of re-theorising heritage studies, took place in Gothenburg, Sweden in June 2012. It aimed to start interdisciplinary conversations that will serve to develop relevant theory across national borders and move away from the conventional understanding of heritage as objectively given places, objects and traditions. Instead heritage is to be regarded as something created in the interaction between different interests and power relations. This perspective was relatively consistent throughout the conference, where a wide range of topics were presented in more than 400 different papers. Concepts such as representation, “the other” and post-colonialism reflected the development of theory in this field over recent years, while considerations of relational ontology, body, affect and connection-seeking theorising were a signal of the development to come.

    (Re)moving Bodies in Museums2013Ingår i: I rörelse / On the Move, 2013, s. 60-61Konferensbidrag (Refereegranskat)
    Abstract [en]

The paper revolves around cases of movements and re-movements of animal and human bodies in museums, mirroring ideological movements and changes, movements of the (physical but non-living) bodies in time and space as well as representations of time and space, also in meta-exhibitions about historical exhibitions. The focus lies on the non-living bodies in natural history museums, i.e. stuffed animals, skeletons, anatomical preparations and models but this does not exclude the living, breathing, moving, feeling and thinking bodies that gaze at the dead. The paper is part of the project Zoo/mbies and Nature Morte: Bodies in Museums of Natural History 1800–2007, in which museums in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Uppsala and London are explored. It also relates to the question of how heritage is constructed and transformed, and how the nature/culture-dualism still forms these constructions.

    Abstract [en]

This thesis will examine how corporate archive can be used by companies in branding and communication. The main question is: How can corporate archives be used to emphasize and shape corporate brands and identities?

Taking the overall issue into consideration, the thesis looks at any archival materials from the corporate archives that the corporate uses to reproduce their history and corporate identity, and how different archival types of materials interact on the corporates websites. Furthermore, this thesis compares the use of archival material on each corporates historical sites.

The source material consists of sites that six different corporates in collaboration developed with the Centre for Business History (CfN) were the different types of records used to present the corporate and its history. My starting point is that corporate archives and marketing in a compound is not specifically represented in research linked to the field of research of archival science. Therefore, this thesis combines corporate archive opportunities with theories of organizational framework of Corporate Identity as well as the relatively new concept History Marketing. Corporate archives can be connected with these concepts in order to increase the impact beneficial to the corporates communication and marketing.

Images are the archival objects the get the most space and appear more frequently, on the websites. They are more accessible in the way they produce different things at the same time the viewer is free to interpret them. Even text documents and films are represented in the corporate archives by choice. By using archival materials, older advertising campaigns can be produced in contemporary light, with original material.

Movies and photos can describe the same events and provide a broader perspective. Combined, they can complement each other in an article. Since archival material consists of different types of materials, older advertising campaigns can be reconstructed and shown again. Some sites use a picture to describe a sequence of events while others use multiple images.

This study shows how corporates have chosen to emphasize and promote their brand and identity by launching websites on which the information is based on corporate archives. Corporates varied activities play a role in which archival materials you choose and why. The archive material becomes part of the corporate identity both on internal organizational plan and external stakeholder consciousness.

Science and the changing conventions of anatomical representation2017Ingår i: Death:  A Graveside Companion (London: Thames & Hudson, 2017), London: Thames & Hudson, 2017Kapitel i bok, del av antologi (Övrig (populärvetenskap, debatt, mm))
    Abstract [en]

Death is an inevitable fact of life. Throughout the centuries, humanity has sought to understand this sobering thought through art and ritual. The theme of memento mori informs medieval Danse Macabre, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, Renaissance paintings of dissected corpses and “anatomical Eves,” Gothic literature, funeral effigies, Halloween, and paintings of the Last Judgment. Deceased ancestors are celebrated in the Mexican Day of the Dead, while the ancient Egyptians mummified their dead to secure their afterlife. Yet the representation of the dead is intrinsically tied to conventions of representation, ideology, politics and social practices.

Becoming Citizens: Representations of Citizenship in European Children's Literature2018Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 20 poäng / 30 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

This thesis examines the representations of citizenship in award-winning children's novels from Finland, France, Sweden and the UK to analyse how the effects of recent cultural and economic developments affecting European societies are described and explored in children's literature. In recent years, both the EU and the nation-state have seemed to be in a state of crisis. I hypothesise that increased cultural and ethnic diversity, new alternative arenas of citizenship and economic scarcity are currently driving the crises and changes in European states, and each of these developments influences our conceptions of citizenship. Reading the novels, I use a qualitative method based on critical content analysis to identify the issues relating to citizenship that the novels deal with and then analyse what they say about said issues. I argue that the novels show some awarness of increased cultural diversity, for example by having diverse casts of characters or by addressing cultural difference. The theme of scarcity is especially evident in characters experiencing precarity and a concern for the environment. Furthermore, they focus on how using one's voice, giving an account of one's life and being listened to, can lead to empowerment. In some of the novels, the protagonists are presented as models of active citizens bravely changing society, whereas the other novels contain more of the characters' internal musings of where they belong, in terms of which nation-state they belong to, but also their place within the state.

    Abstract [sv]

Female characters in ten mature rated game trailers according to a sex object test2014Självständigt arbete på grundnivå (högskoleexamen), 20 poäng / 30 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

Sexual objectification is a topic that is frequently discussed but its importance is underestimated by many in the game industry as well as the general public. This thesis examines and analyses ten mature rated game-trailers with the help of a sex object test to determine if the trailers are sexual objectified. The Sex Object Test (SOT) originally was developed by PhD Caroline Heldman (2012) to measure the presence of sexual objectification in images, a research she based of Martha Nussbaum (1995) and Rae Langton (2009) theories on sexual objectification. During the first part of the examination process, the used qualitative classification method consisted of listing the top ten games of 2013 with sufficient amount of reviews on gamerankings.com with a mature rating in which the trailer had to contain a female character. During the second part of the classification process, all frames of each trailer were searched and analyzed according to SOT. The result of this examination shows that female characters in the majority of tested game trailers were sexually objectified. However, by briefly comparing these trailers with the game content, the results of this investigation shows that it is not possible to determine if the game the trailer represent is sexually objectifying or not against female characters.

Remembrance of the Ottoman Heritage in Serbia: A Field Study at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade2012Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 20 poäng / 30 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

The thesis discusses the remembrance of the Ottoman heritage and presentation of Ottoman culture at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade. The study emphasizes the role and importance of memory and historical interpretation in the contemporary museum practice at the museum. The historical memories of a collection of 6 curators will be discussed and represented in order to examine the influence these recollections have on the exhibition of culture in the museum. The thesis gives the reader a further understanding of the mechanisms behind the continuous neglect and lack of appreciation of the Ottoman heritage in the Serbian society. In line with the current research within memory studies, this study focus on a museum as a site of memory, or a "lieux de mémoire" in Pierre Nora's term. The author concludes that there is a lack of awareness and emphasis in the museum on the Ottoman heritage. She also argues that the museum as a site of memory does little to provide for an arena where memories of different cultures and identities are channeled and presented in the society. Further studies should also emphasize museum presentations in other Southeast European countries in order to discuss the ways in which folk culture, cultural history and memory are presented to the public.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this thesis is to compare how the mathematics departments at Uppsala University and Alvar Aalto University relate to and manage their collections of mathematical models. In the thesis the importance of individuals in relation to this type cultural heritage and the situation for university collections will be discussed. Therefore the individuals’ interpretations of the approach are a major part of the study. Questions regarding the collections condition, placement, role, the knowledge about them and the responsibility for them are discussed and analysed.

The methods used in the study were qualitative and taped interviews were done with three informants. The method of observation was also used to study the condition and placement of the collections and data was also collected from e-mail and conversations. The theories chosen for this study are phenomenology, cultural heritage and ideas of objects containing social ideas.

The result from the study shows that the universities relate to and manage their collections differently. The collection at Aalto University has been cared for, been made available and used in teaching, which has resulted in that the awareness of it is high. At Uppsala University the majority of the collection is in poor condition and it is almost considered forgotten by the department. A few of the objects have been used in teaching. The collection has not been made available to students or employees. The study has also found that university collections could be considered museum objects as well tools for teaching and research. Universities are not museums, their main goal is not to care for huge collections and this affects their values and the management of them. Individuals have a significant impact on how university collections are managed and made available although this varies depending on the responsibility taken by the department itself. If the individuals’ knowledge about the collections is recorded, the collections are managed better.

    Abstract [en]

A participatory approach was at the heart of understanding the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 and consequently after the end of 2018, the cultural heritage sector is putting efforts to understand if the approach was a contemporary trend, a methodology for the Year itself, a topic that was widely discussed, an outlook that is becoming more and more embedded in cultural heritage practices or a synthesis of all aspects. The paper explores if and how the European Year has contributed to advance and progress the understanding of the approach and enhance practices of the participatory governance of cultural heritage.

    Abstract [en]

The aim of this thesis is to examine the information culture at Stockholm University library. The thesis examines how information culture affects information management and if the information culture is different within the organization. In order to investigate whether there are differences, two groups were studied: one consisting of four individuals in leading positions and one consisting of four employees. The thesis is based on a qualitative case-study method, where interviews and documents are used as a method to collect data and to gain a deeper understanding of respondent’s values, norms and behaviours towards information. Davenport & Prusak’s theoretical model An Ecological Model for Information Management  is used to study the organization as an ecosystem. The perspective on information management has been holistic, behaviour-oriented and human-centered. To gain knowledge about the information culture at Stockholm University library, Curry & Moore’s model The Evolution of Information Culture  has been used. The model consists of six components suggested necessary for information culture to flourish. The six components have been used as a theoretical framework and analytical tool to examine the information culture at Stockholm University library. The thesis identifies weaknesses in the information culture at Stockholm University library. Results in the thesis illustrates cultural differences between the two groups, regarding how information should be handled in the organization in relation to how it is actually managed in practice. These findings further show that information management in the organization is not as efficient as it could be. Stockholm University library has recently undergone a major reorganization and change of management, aspects which have been taken into consideration as they could have effect on the results. This is a two years master’s thesis in Library studies.

Occasional music was frequently used in the 17th century and indispensable for court ceremonies. From acultural-analytical and linguistic perspective, the contribution considers occasional music for the purpose of homage as amulti-code type of text. For the analysis of the compositions, concepts, metaphors and topics are taken into account; this refers to semantic units beyond the semantics of words and sentences. However, the focus of the article is not only on the semantics of complex linguistic signs, but it is also intended to show by contextualization how meaning was created in ceremonies by functionalizing emotions for socio-political purposes.

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

The focus of the thesis is to investigate how four university archivists perceive the functionality of the new Swedish process-oriented archival description system. University archivists are at the center of the study since the organizational structure of a university is process-oriented to some degree. However universities still have activities that are more challenging to view as processes, such as research. Universities were thus identified as a suitable candidate to analyze how process-oriented archival description functions in an environment that both is and is not clearly process-oriented.

The research questions posed in this study are all related to the new archival description model, and archivists own experiences and views of the system. The main questions in the study concern the functionality of the system, its durability (if there is a repeated call for modification of the model), how the archival description system works with organizations that are not process-oriented, as well as if the system can operate as a finding aid in a long term perspective.

The theoretical aim of the study is based around two different and sometimes contrasting views on the nature of archival records; namely the life cycle- and continuum-model. According to the life cycle-perspective records follow a linear-path from birth to death, reaching pre-destined pit stops along the way. The continuum theorists imagine records not as linear but as multifaceted, having multiple lives and never reaching a “death”-state. In Sweden, earlier research has shown that the life cycle-model has dominated the archival scene, but the new process-oriented archival description system could open up for a continuum-related approach.

This study shows that no archivist made any statements that hinted in a continuum-way of thinking, and the results rather substantiated earlier research claiming the dominance of the life cycle-model. Investigation results show that three out of four archivists don’t believe that the archival description model is suitable for universities, as the organizational structure is not process-oriented. All of the archivists are struggling with describing activities as process-based, and three out of four archivists claim that description ends upcontrived. All archivists however concur that the positive effects of the system could result in government agencies increases transparency and accountability, but only if the system works as intended. The long term durability of the description model is also put in question from three out of four archivists. All archivists additionally regard the model as sensitive to organizational changes, and all universities are preparingfor and expecting numerous future modifications. The conclusion of the study is that the process-oriented archival description system is difficult to apply to organizations that have activities with unclear processes.

The results furthermore indicate that the system needs continuous effort to maintain, due to the nature of ever changing organizations. As a finding aid the model is viewed as flawed, as the classification schema will be revised several times, which will certainly demand that the user have assistance in understanding the schema. All archivists claim that the archival function (and not the classification schema) of the university will be the main search tool for all users in the future.

    Abstract [en]

In this article I examine myths in the gene science debate, and their use as a tool in analysis of popular perceptions and public opinion of genetic science and gene technology. In daily language myth means something untrue, though theories of myth present them as carriers of knowledge and truth. I understand myth as a narrative, a cultural construct that aims to describe the world, its origin, and its constituent elements. I compare scholars’ usage of myths, considering their implications. I conclude that i) As an analytical tool the concept of myth is too loosely defined, or understood through theories which leave out context, social relations and interaction. This provides limited insight about myths and myth-making in present day society. ii) An updated understanding of myths, including location/context and interaction/process would enrich analysis.

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

Traditionally archives have been regarded as repositories where documents naturally generated in the different processes of organisations are stored, the emphasis being on “naturally generated”. Responsible for the long-term preservation of these records is the always objective and neutral archivist whose task is to make sure that the records will not get corrupted and can be used as evidence. In the past few decades, however, the archival community has become more and more aware of the fact that certain groups, voices and histories – mainly those of ordinary people – are missing from the archives. The purpose of this thesis was to examine how archives in Sweden approach this issue and what efforts they make to fill these gaps in their collections.

I examined three kinds of archival institutions: city archives, private archives and museum archives. By analysing their survey response and project documentation (when not available, interviews), I aimed to find out what arguments they had for and against documenting society and what groups, events or places they documented. The research showed that most public archives did not engage in such activities as most of them did not even think it was their task to collect and/or create new documents. The few institutions that have or have had documentation projects focused mainly on local people and the history of the town they were located in. When it comes to private archives, the attitude was completely different and they regard these projects as a significant part of their work. Almost all of the private institutions I contacted have an active outreach programme where they either create new primary source documents themselves or inform organisations in the private sector about the importance of documenting their activities and preserving the documentation. Museum archives were a special case: since the museums I studied document different places, phenomena and groups the documents created automatically fill certain gaps in their archives. Filling the gaps is, however, seldom the main goal of their projects and they focus more on how the new primary sources can be used in the future, for instance in exhibitions.

The argumentation behind these projects varied, some institutions argued that certain experiences and memories had to be documented before it is too late while others emphasised the importance of documenting our time for future generations. Other arguments occur too, such as gaps in the collections that need to be filled or helping a certain group integrate who, by contributing their stories, can participate in writing the town’s history.

Identify Instruments Measuring Organizational Culture, within Community Pharmacy and Exploring Organizational Culture in Australian and New Zealand Community Pharmacy2015Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 20 poäng / 30 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

    Abstract

Introduction:  Different definitions of the expression Organizational culture (OC) occur in the literature, and many of them relate to shared constructs such as norms, values, beliefs and behaviours. OC shapes and affects everyday life within an organization, can be a mediator for change and have a considerable effect on performance i.e. productivity and effectiveness within an organization. OC can be studied using different cultural frameworks, like Schein´s or Martins framework. This paper will examine pharmacy and Organizational with a focus on Australia and New Zealand due to the similarity of their health system and national culture.

Aim: Two objectives occurred in the report: 1) identify how measures and instruments have been developed, validated and applied in OC research in pharmacy practice generally, and 2) summarise research on OC in Australasian pharmacy and identify the theories, frameworks and measures that have been applied in the Australasian research. This represents preparatory work to detect if measures of OC within community pharmacy in Australasia is needed.

Materials and Methods:  Two separate literature searches were conducted in this paper, to address the aim. The search was conducted in different databases; Embase, PubMed, Medline, ABI/inform; International Pharmaceutical Abstracts and Emerald.

Results:  Two instruments were detected that measured OC more holistic, and eight measures were found that measured different aspects of OC. The second search gave a clear picture that not much had been investigated according to OC within community pharmacies in Australasia.

Conclusions:  More research is needed within the area, internationally and within Australasia. The multidimensional nature of OC makes it more difficult to measure, but since the impact of OC is significant, this also makes it more important to measure.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of my one year master’s thesis is to add a documentation of a data processing-process of photo- graphs to the administration of archives. The thesis is written from an archival science perspective which is to be seen in my choice of literature, method and questions at issue. To be able to form a documentation of a data processing-process I studied DiBiS, a company specialized in digitalizing old photographs and publish them on a online database. I also added a chapter where I studied how archival institutions used to handle their old photo- graphs in a traditional manner so the reader of this thesis will be able to understand and see the differences be- tween traditional and modern photograph management. Following the chapters describing traditional and modern management I formulated some questions at issue about the data-processing-process. Those questions I studied and analyzed in chapters about advantages and the complex of problems surrounding the subject. I came to the conclusion that there are a lot of advantages surrounding the data processing-process, especially from an ar- rangement- preservation and access point of view. I also came to the conclusion that the problems with data processing is the exaggerated focus on the photographic subject, the mistake of thinking that a digital copy of the subject can replace the original photograph and that retouch might distort the original outcome and therefore not live up to  archival science standards. To my assistance I had Katarina Nordin, archivist at Arkiv Gävleborg and, among others, Ingrid Fallström, ar- chivist at DiBiS. Specialist technical literature used during my work with this thesis have been Anna Dahlgrens and Pelle Snickars (red.) I bildarkivet om fotografi och digitaliserings effekter, Hege Oulies Digitalisering av fotosamlinger, Project Minervas Good practices handbook, Wolfgang Ernsts Sorlet från arkiven – ordning ur oordning and Anna Christina Ulfsparres (red.) An Ecocritical Analysis of Modern Japanese Literary History: Becomings of Self, Nature and Literature at the Beginning of the Twentieth Century2019Självständigt arbete på avancerad nivå (masterexamen), 30 poäng / 45 hpStudentuppsats (Examensarbete)
    Abstract [en]

Situated in environmental history and ecocriticism, this thesis traces the emergence of modern Japanese literature at the beginning of the twentieth century. Using agential realism and its concepts ‘diffraction’ and ‘becoming’, this thesis conducts an anti-essential ecocritical analysis. It aims to overcome recurring dualisms in literary analyses and to trace negotiations of concepts such as ‘nature’ and ‘self’ in modern Japanese literature. The thesis scrutinises ‘diffractions’ between the subject and the object in novels and through very acts of producing novels. These ‘diffractions’ are analysed in relation to ‘becomings’ of the concept ‘nature’ as well as ‘literature’ in the context of Japanese modernisation. Based on diverse struggles in ‘becomings’ in modern literary history, the thesis concludes with questioning the cliché of Japanese culture (the lack of absolute ‘self’ and ‘love of nature’) and also comments on analyses of ‘diffractions’ as a viable method for ecocritical analyses or the ‘ecologisation’ of literary analyses.
