Dates: 4-6 November in Uppsala 2015.Web site: www.asmcs.se.Surface and colloid chemistry continues to play an important role in the investigation of biological systems for elucidating basic biological and biophysical processes. The 2015 Annual Symposium on Surface and Materials Chemistry (ASMCS) is devoted to the broad topic colloids and surfaces in biology and biomaterials. The focus lies on fundamental aspects of colloids and surfaces relevant in biology, biomedicine, drug delivery and biotechnology, an interdisciplinary field encompassing surface and colloid science, materials science, chemical engineering, pharmaceutics, biology and biotechnology. The scientific themes include: Drug delivery, Biomaterials and self-assemblies, Diagnostics and biosensors, Novel nanomaterials for bioapplications, Biomimetic systems, Colloidal biology.The purpose of the 2015 symposium is to contribute to the development and renewal of Swedish research in colloids-, surface- and materials-chemistry by inviting as inspiring lecturers internationally leading scientists with markedly cross-disciplinary research profiles, stimulate exchange of knowledge and promoting international and national scientific collaboration.The number of participants are expected to be about 120.Organizers: Per Hansson (chair), Katarina Edwards and Martin Malmsten, Uppsala University.
