Title [sv]
RCA Rapportörer för digital detektion i forskning och klinik
Title [en]
RCA Reporters for digital detection in research and at the point of care
Abstract [en]
We will demonstrate the utility of our recently developed and patented RCA Reporter technology for enhanced detection of transcripts and proteins in research and at the point of care. RCA Reporters is a novel technology where DNA constructs added to a sample initiate a local DNA amplification reaction directly upon contacting the appropriate target DNA or RNA molecules. Also proteins can be detected via DNA-conjugated affinity reagents. In these reactions, a highly specific strand invasion step serves to unmask a latent replication complex for rapid, specific and easily recorded digital detection of target molecules or probes having bound their targets. The technology will complement a long list of previously developed molecular methods from our lab, several of them currently in use in labs around the world and by several spin-outs from our lab or through licenses to 12 international biotech companies. The RCA Reporter technique enables attractive one-step assays and powerful isothermal signal amplification that generates signals easily observed and digitally enumerated by different means. These reagents can significantly simplify a wide range of molecular detection reactions, and enable high-performance, multiplex doctors’ office tests for many classes of molecules.
