HBTQ+ är ett ämne som ska och bör ingå i undervisningen i skolan. Dels för att inkludera alla elever, dels för att ge fler perspektiv än den heteronormativitet som råder i samhället. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur HBTQ+ och heterosexualitet representeras och beskrivs i läromedel i historia 1b och hur normerna kring detta reproduceras i texten. Undersökningen görs utifrån en granskning av fyra utvalda läromedel utformade för kursen Historia 1b och granskningen är gjord i två delar, dels genom en kvantitativ diskursanalys, dels genom en kvalitativ diskursanalys. Den kvantitativa diskursanalysen består av att kvantifiera alla representationer av HBTQ+-personer och -begrepp, i de olika läroböckerna, dessa räknas och behandlas sedan som statistik. I den kvalitativa diskursanalysen, textanalysen, av läroböckerna, görs en mer systematisk granskning om vad texterna i böckerna innehåller, vilket språk som används och vilka ämnen/delar av historien som är med. Resultatet av studien visar en tydlig brist av HBTQ+-representationer i läromedlen, där förhållanden och familjer beskrivs med ett heteronormativt perspektiv. Läromedlen utgår enbart från könen han och hon samt har en stark manlig överrepresentation. Denna uppsats bidrar med en medvetenhet kring de brister som finns i representationen av HBTQ+ och heterosexualitet, då slutsatsen är att de undersökta läromedlen är heteronormativa och följer en manlig norm.

LGBTQ+ is a very important subject that should be included in school teaching. Partly to include all students but also to provide more perspectives than the heteronormativity that prevails in society. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how LGBTQ+ and heterosexuality are represented and described in teaching materials for history 1b and how the standards around this are reproduced in writing. The investigation is based on an examination of four selected teaching aids designed for the course History 1b. The examination is done in two parts, firstly through a quantitative discourse analysis, secondly through a qualitative discourse analysis. The quantitative discourse analysis consists of quantifying all representations of LGBTQ+ people and concepts in the various textbooks. These are counted and then treated as statistics. In the qualitative discourse analysis of the textbooks a more systematic review is made. Which includes what texts the books contains, which language is used and which subjects/parts of history are included. The results of the study show a lack of LGBTQ+ representations in the teaching materials, where relationships and families are described with a heteronormative perspective. The teaching materials are based solely on the genders male and female with a strong male overrepresentation. This essay contributes to an awareness of the shortcomings that exist in the representation of LGBTQ+ and heterosexuality, as the conclusion is that the researched teaching materials are heteronormative and follows a masculine norm.
