This study is an object biography of the Cong (OM-1974-1405) from the Östasiatiska museum in Stockholm. The Cong object has been known as an artefact found in excavations of burials at the Liangzhu historical sites and has carried a big social and religious significance for the Liangzhu culture. There is not much information available about the object at the museum - therefore, this is a biographical study of this object. Using archaeological and geological research done on the Cong objects from Liangzhu in general, this thesis applies that information to the object biography of the Cong from the Östasiatiska museum. The importance of this thesis lies in a better understanding of this Cong and the changes it has gone through with time, but also in better explaining the context of the Cong at Östasiatiska, since much of this was lost after its discovery.

Den här studien är en objektbiografisk studie om Cong (OM-1974-1405) från östasiatiska museet i Stockholm. Cong som objekt är känt för att vara funnet i utgrävning av gravar i Liangzhu-kulturens historiska områden, och den har haft en stor social och religiös betydelse inom Liangzhu-kulturen. Det finns inte mycket information tillgänglig om föremålet på museet, och därför är denna uppsats en objektbiografiskt studie av detta föremål. Arkeologiska och geologiska studier gjorda på Cong-objekt i allmänhet tillämpas i denna uppsats på den objektbiografiska studien av Cong-objektet från Östasiatiska museet. Betydelsen och vikten av uppsatsen ligger i att forma en bättre uppfattning av det specifika Cong-objektet och dess förändringar genom tid och rum, men även att ge en identitet till Cong-objektet från Östasiatiska museet, något som gick förlorat efter dess upptäckt.
