Boken är en kortfattad introduktion till juridisk metod och juridiska resonemang. Den innehåller kapitel som förklarar var och en av de fyra huvudsakliga rättskällorna i den svenska rättsordningen: lagtext, förarbeten, rättspraxis och doktrin. Den innehåller också ett kapitel som förklarar hur jurister använder dessa rättskällor när de argumenterar. Boken är avsedd för studenter på en juridisk introduktionskurs eller andra som söker en lättfattlig guide till rättsteknik.
